The natural ecosystem is highly sensitive and can be easily destroyed by even the slightest external disturbance. Among all threats, human interference has the most devastating impact on the fate of other species. While human desires and intervention have driven many species to the brink of extinction, nature shows remarkable resilience when that interference disappears. This documentary explores the incredible self-healing power and recovery potential of nature through the stories of wild animals that once vanished due to humans but are now returning as nature reclaims its balance. The Siberian tiger is one of the rarest and most powerful wild animals on Earth—especially meaningful to the Korean people as both a feared and familiar creature. In South Korea, there has been no official record of Siberian tigers since 1924 (and no reliable data from North Korea). Due to relentless hunting and habitat destruction, their numbers plummeted to just around 30 individuals in the Sikhote-Alin region of Russia’s Far East by the 1930s. Thanks to Russia’s conservation efforts, the species narrowly avoided extinction and has gradually recovered. Today, it is estimated that around 600 wild Siberian tigers remain. The Amur leopard, once also known as the Korean leopard, is in even greater danger, with fewer than 150 left in the wild—making it the rarest big cat on the planet. EBS followed the tracks of Siberian tigers and Amur leopards from Sikhote-Alin, their last known habitat, all the way to the Tumen River at the border between Russia and the Korean Peninsula. The footage vividly captures their lives and reveals how these majestic predators are expanding their territory back into Korea. ✔ Program Title: DocuPrime – Nature Documentary: The Return, Part 1 – Return of the Tigers ✔ Broadcast Date: September 4, 2023 #SiberianTiger #AmurLeopard #WildlifeConservation #NatureRecovery #EndangeredSpecies #RussiaWildlife #NorthKorea #KoreanPeninsula #TumenRiver #TigerComeback #EcosystemRestoration #PICKDOCU
