I Was Mad at God: I Made Marriage an Idol (Christian Singles)

God had to show me that even something good like marriage can become an idol if we place it above Him. Now, my perspective has completely changed. Do I still desire marriage? Yes. But it’s no longer everything to me—it’s the icing on the cake, not the whole cake. If you’re single right now, I want to encourage you: Singleness is not a punishment. It’s a season with purpose. The Bible even talks about this in 1 Corinthians 7:7–8, where Paul explains that singleness allows you to focus fully on God. We don’t know how much time we have on this earth, so the most important thing is making sure your relationship with God is solid. Don’t rush into something just because you feel behind or pressured. Let God prepare you fully.
