In this video, I'll show you what I'm taking with me on my tour to Greece and the Balkans. Three weeks on the TET and ACT with light luggage and a hammock or tent. We'll be riding a Tuareg 660, Kove 800, Honda CRF 300, 1200 GS, BMW F 900 GS, and Africa Twin. What's better, hard cases or soft luggage, and everything else that might be important for a motorcycle tour like this. A motorcycle tour on the Trans Euro Trail (TET) and the Adventure Country Tracks (ACT) through Southeast Europe is the ultimate blend of wilderness, culture, and riding challenge. While the TET is known for its untouched, often narrow trails, the ACT offers smoother off-road routes specifically designed for large adventure motorcycles. The route through the countries: Slovenia & Croatia: The starting point is often the ACT Croatia, which runs for approximately 835 km from Istria to the island of Hvar. In Slovenia, the TET offers technical forest sections and alpine views, while Croatia boasts dusty gravel tracks in the Velebit Mountains and the spectacular Adriatic coast. Serbia & Montenegro: In Serbia, the TET leads through dense forests and rolling hills in the west of the country. Montenegro is a highlight for mountain enthusiasts: The ACT Montenegro (often combined with Albania) leads through Durmitor National Park and over the famous Čakor Pass. Albania: Here things get wild. Albania is considered Europe's off-road paradise. The routes lead through remote villages in the Albanian Alps (Theth Loop) and across rugged high plateaus. Mountain hospitality is legendary, but the trails are often challenging and weather-dependent. Greece: The Greek section of the TET offers tremendous variety – from the Pindus Mountains with their stone bridges to sandy sections and ancient ruins along the way. Important tips for your planning Travel time: The best time is from May to June or September to October. In the height of summer, it's extremely hot in the hinterland, and there can be snow in the mountains well into June. Navigation: Download the latest GPX data directly from Adventure Country Tracks and the Trans Euro Trail, as tracks can change due to landslides or closures. Equipment: A lightweight setup is advantageous on the TET. Robust tires (e.g., 50/50 on/off-road) are essential. Respect: Be mindful of grazing livestock and local regulations. The preservation of these legal off-road trails depends heavily on rider behavior. We are the part-time sheep. Our lives are a mix of the imposed norms and trying to live them only "part-time." Our old farm in the outback of the Bergisches Land region is our home. We live here in a freedom we haven't found in the city. We love to travel unconventionally and off the beaten track: by motorcycle, pickup truck, with a self-built camper shell, bike, canoe trips, and wild camping. We've realized that everyday life isn't for us and leave the crowd as often as we can.
