76ers at Lakers, 1982 REG SEAS (Dr. J, Andrew Toney, Bobby Jones vs Showtime)

A highly rare and special game that was aired by the Lakers road channel so they could have Chick Hearn narrate it (Lakers had a different home game crew on a different channel at that time). Our 2020 assistant coach Lionel Hollins is in it! Shoutout to Lionel. Anyway, this is a rematch of the 1980 Finals and a preview of the 1982 Finals. Not much changed after 1980. When you see this, you will know for sure that the Sixers' biggest obstacle to a title was Kareem. In 82/3, they acquired Moses Malone, who usually got the best of Kareem and played him physically, which he absolutely hated. It threw him (Kareem) off his game when opposing centers were physical enough to do that. In 1983, the Sixers finally got over on the Lakers.
