Europe Visit 2022: Episode 8: Fussen, Germany in Winter

We visited Europe a number of times in spring, summer and autumn, but never in winter. This time we decided to visit it in winter, specially during Christmas market. After visiting Vienna, Salzburg, Hallstatt, Konigsee, Innsbruck, Swarovski Crystal World, St. Gallen, Gossau, Schwagalp, Santis and Appenzell, we went to Fussen in Germany. Nestled at the foot of the Alps, Füssen, a town in Bavaria is at the southern end of the Romantic Road. It is located on the banks of the Lech River, which flows into the Forggensee lake. One of the first things that one should do while visiting Fussen is wander the streets of the Old Town or Altstadt. The pedestrianised Altstadt is a pretty blend of brightly coloured buildings, many of which are adorned with frescoes. Worth seeing places in Fussen are Allstadt or old town, Lech River, Lech Falls and Forggensee lake. Intercity transport: Our Intercity transport was mainly train and at some places we took Flixbus. First, we thought of purchasing Eurail global pass, but cost was coming much higher than purchasing point to point rail ticket of that country and flix bus.
