Recording an Upright Piano in an Echoey Room

The family piano can offer a really nice, individual alternative to a DAW plugin, but what if the piano is in a really echoey place? Is there anything that one can do to combat the reflections of the room, without breaking the bank? Well, in this video, I use the Disklavier system on the piano to record a short take, played back with four different ways of recording, with the lid on, off and with a piece of fabric to help. Recordings here are made with the Zoom iQ6, an inexpensive but effective microphone. Enjoy and Share!
