Tensions are rising in Ecuador this Tuesday after several hooded and armed gang members took over the public television station TC in Guayaquil, "so you know not to mess with gangs," one of the attackers said on camera. Late Tuesday, Ecuadorian police announced the arrest of those involved in the attack and the evacuation of the staff. Live footage from the El Noticiero program showed the attackers forcing the staff—whom they took hostage—to lie on the floor, and demanding that they call on the police to leave live.
