Mercedes w140 - reinstalling the original Becker and Bose amplifier
My w140 had an aftermarket head unit and amplifier fit which were no longer working. With the help of MMWA and Tim, we have returned the car as it should be, with the Becker 1692 (aka 1491? and also sold as Alpine CM2396). Becker Autosound in the USA posted this and the correct Bose amplifier to my home in Australia and all have worked very well. The head unit had a blue tooth module built into it which is handy (not phone mode). Unfortunately the previous stereo shop cut the Bose amplifier mount in half to fit the Alpine unit they installed so I will have to find another one. After all this, I now have the car sounding as it should which is fantastic.
