Welcome to the official documentary, "Little Chief: The Centennial Restoration." To celebrate the centennial year of our historic flagship vessel, the Little Chief, the Glacier Park Boat Company spent a full winter conducting an extensive restoration. The restoration process itself was years in the making, and this film condenses about 20 weeks of filmed meticulous, labor-intensive work into a 20-minute journey behind the scenes of cultural preservation in Glacier National Park. From removing original wooden pieces to the final, triumphant launch back onto the waters of St. Mary Lake, see firsthand what it takes to keep a legacy alive for the next generation of park visitors.
