But he was already in love with another woman and the fairytale marriage soon devolved into a messy divorce splashed across the tabloids. Though she would never get to be Queen, Diana’s glamor, likability and compassionate charity work made her the Queen of Hearts. In 1997 she died tragically in a car crash while being chased by paparazzi.
