Owning and breeding racehorses INTERVIEW with JIM MCGRATH- PART 2

I had the privilege of chatting to one of racings most knowledgable faces. One of Britain’s most well-known racing pundits and broadcasters, Jim McGrath. With his wealth of knowledge this was a great opportunity for me to learn all about form and ratings. Jim McGrath has also had success as an owner and breeder which gave me great joy to ask Jim about the breeding side of the industry. Why is breeding important in racing, what does this mean for the form? Jim explains the process from breeding to receiving a horses rating. Interestingly, unlike breaking a normal horse at 4/5, a racehorse is broken as a yearling and raced at 2. Parts 1 and 3 available. Join me on twitter @racingwithhannah
