Hundreds of members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and other political parties have officially defected to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) during a massive political gathering in Imeko, Imeko-Afon Local Government Area of Ogun State. The event was led by the Ogun State PDP Governorship Candidate, Hon. Oladipupo Adebutu, alongside the PDP Ogun West Senatorial Candidate, Hon. Babatunde Ogunola (Tomo), PDP Ogun State Chairman, Hon. Dr. Abayomi Tella, members of the PDP Ogun West Elders' Council, and other party leaders. Speaking at the event, Adebutu assured the new members of inclusive governance, accelerated development, improved infrastructure, youth empowerment, quality education, healthcare, and economic opportunities if elected. The defectors said they left the APC due to the lack of developmental projects and the economic hardship affecting their communities.
