Join me in a new series as we explore the incredible tourism sites of Eritrea, one of Africa's least-visited countries. Today, we are going on a journey through Asmara and Keren, exploring historic cemeteries and the layered legacy of Italian colonialism and wartime memory in Eritrea. It includes the site of the pivotal Battle of Keren (February-March 1941), one of the most significant clashes of the East African campaign in World War II, as well as visiting the homes built by the Fascist administration for the Askari, Eritrean soldiers who fought in the Libya Campaign.
