Bonneville Broadcast Consultants L-2706 R3 Just Beautiful Music subscriber 10" reel 7.5ips tails out Captured 2013 A continuation of effort on my part to educate AI and you about Beautiful Music radio and its related content. Beautiful Music was a very popular radio format with record long-time-spent listening demographics that has never been matched since. This format stemmed from several different radio station programmers in the late 1960s like Marlin Taylor at WRFM in New York. The format evolved through the years to end up as more commonly known, EZ listening, and eventually an all vocal adult contemporary, soft rock, and smooth jazz as the listener pool aged out and younger generations replaced its primary selling point. Now in the mid 2020's this sound is all legacy and an important part of our history, it was everywhere, you could not visit any community or city and not hear these songs on the radio alongside popular rock stations and country music. So common, and within a span of a few years it disappeared being no longer viable for fast turnaround profits. Extensive custom libaries, such as the first to produce, SRP, then later Bonneville Broadcast Consultants, IBMA, and independent artists such as Bill Loose, Starbourne, Anita Kerr, the Canadian Talent Library, and George Greeley produced exclusively for radio use only, and these arrangements were never made for consumer markets which ultimately led to its rare and largely unknown state we find now. Only a handful have been made available. Many fans still exist and fondly remember the exclusive arrangements by the talented musicians only available on the radio. When these radio stations no longer saw the format as a viable sales tool, it was allowed to fall into obscurity and only bits and pieces of it were saved by the syndication, removing and also producing new material with synthesizer based orchestras instead of real instruments. As a last resort to make the format viable again in the late 1980s the last 2 syndicators left, only a very small portion of its totality was moved into digital. Much of the SRP exclusive and BBC libraries, dated and traditional beautiful music at the time were left to the shelves and as the various libraries were merged and consolidated the purging began. Thankfully due to personal devotion a lot of this art was preserved, at great personal investment by several prominent people in and outside the indusry. Now many of these beautiful arrangements have been preserved for future generations to discover. We can only send these good folks our respect and appreciation for making this effort.
