What Truly Makes My Garden Special (Beyond The Plants)

Welcome back to My Carolina Garden! If you live or garden anywhere in coastal North Carolina, you already know the truth: we have beautiful sand and gorgeous sunshine, but we don't have natural rocks. So, how did my backyard end up filled with so many stunning, giant stones? In today's video, I’m sharing a very personal story about what truly makes my garden unique—and it has nothing to do with the plants. We actually just returned from a road trip to upstate New York, and yes... I brought home another massive load of rocks! I’ll show you the footage of us loading up the truck, and how I've gotten so many of the other special rocks in my garden. Beyond the landscaping texture they provide, these rocks are the literal heartbeat of my garden. Every single large stone you see here was gifted by family or friends, or collected from places that hold a special piece of my history. Every time I look down at them, I don't just see a border or a feature—I see the faces, the laughs, and the memories of the people I love. Grab a warm cup of coffee or a cold sweet tea, and let's take a look at the stories behind the stones. I hope this inspires you to find ways to weave your own family history and special memories into your backyard oasis! Thank you so much for watching. Do you have anything in your garden that isn’t a plant but holds a huge sentimental value to you? A piece of old family farm equipment, a gifted bench, or maybe some rocks of your own? I would love to hear your stories in the comments below! #CoastalNCGardening #MyCarolinaGarden #GardenDesign #SentimentalGarden #BackyardOasis #GardenInspiration #LandscapingRocks
