Can Rum make a sophisticated sipper? This cocktail shows that yes, rum drinks can be just as sophisticated as the rest of them! The original recipe calls for equal parts rum and vermouth, but I like to bump up the rum slightly to give it a little more back bone. CHAPTERS: 0:00 - Introduction 0:08 - History 0:55 - Garnish prep 1:17 - Make 4:52 - Tasting notes SPECS: 40ml (1 & 1/3oz) flavourful white rum 20ml (2/3oz) blanc vermouth 10ml (1/3oz) dry curacao/triple sec Barspoon grenadine Orange twist to garnish EQUIPMENT: A jigger A mixing glass A julep strainer A barspoon A coupe glass METHOD: Add all of your ingredients to your mixing glass, fill the glass with ice and stir until it is chilled and diluted. Strain in to chilled coupe glass, fold orange twist over the drink to express the oils then place it in to garnish.
