The Strange, Strange Kanjincho" [Synopsis] In a certain theater, Kaori (Kaori Mizumori), who eloped, returns with her infant child. Wanting to avenge her husband who was deceived and killed, she chases after the villains, but as a woman, she cannot pass through the checkpoints. Especially with a young child, it's impossible, so she tearfully pleads with her brother and troupe leader, Bandō Ryūzaburō (Mondo Ryūji), to at least look after the child. Unable to get involved himself, Ryūzaburō gives a plan to the star actor, Butaemon (Umezawa Tomio). The plan is to disguise themselves as mountain ascetics, mimicking the play "Kanjinchō," and pass through the checkpoint. Waiting for them at the Ataka checkpoint is Togashi Saemon (Ryū Kotarō), more terrifying than a demon. Well, will it work...?
