He was born on March 30, 1930, in Perth, Western Australia, and began his career as a musician, playing the didgeridoo and other instruments. Harris became a regular on British television in the 1960s, hosting his own variety shows and appearing on programs such as "The Benny Hill Show." He was known for his musical performances and his ability to create art on the spot, often using unusual materials such as a wobble board or his own hands. He also had a number of hit songs, including "Tie Me Kangaroo Down, Sport" and "Two Little Boys."
