Drama master #KingSir passed away peacefully at home on March 3rd at the age of 89. As the founding principal of the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts and a TVB acting instructor, he nurtured generations of talent. The highly respected King Sir's memorial service was held this morning (March 4th) at Kowloon City Baptist Church. King Sir had a vast network of students throughout his life. The funeral committee consisted of many former students of the Academy, including film stars Tse Kwan-ho, Wong Cho-lam, Cheung Chi-chung, Lau Sek-yin, Louisa So and her husband Poon Chan-leung, Chan Kwok-pong, Lau Nga-lai, and Chun Kai-wai. They arrived early to make arrangements; the hall was filled with flowers, and a photograph of King Sir sitting serenely on a long wooden bench against a backdrop of blue sky and white clouds was displayed. The white coffin arrived at approximately 9:20 am, accompanied by family members. The pallbearers included funeral committee advisors Mak Chau, Choi Wing-ping, Johnnie To, Tse Kwan-ho, Chan Kin-bun, Sun Bi-sheng, Mok Chi-chung, and Wong Lung-bin. King Sir was a highly respected figure in the entertainment industry, and countless entertainers and political figures bid him farewell. Among those who recognized his talent were Chow Yun-fat, Andy Lau, Liza Wang (during their time at TVB's acting training program), directors Johnnie To, Sylvia Chang, Cheung Kwok-keung, Mary Hon and her husband To Yin-ko, Cheung Kam-ching, Athena Chu and her husband Paul Wong, Sheren Tang, Tang Ying-man, Kwok Fung, Raymond Wong, Tse Suet-sum, Leung Cho-yiu, and Siu Mei-kwan, as well as those who rarely appeared in public, such as Xi Xiulan, Wong Wan-choi, and Chan Ka-yee. #EntertainmentOne Besides CLS, you're also welcome to support us with Super Thanks so we can continue to create great content 🫶 With your support, we can go even further 1.
