The Ever-Powerful Shakti Pranav and Its Significance 7. The Best Way to Meditate on Shakti Pranav as Described by Maa Bhagwati Herself The sovereign of the three worlds and the fourteen realms, the creator and presiding deity of all existence from the smallest blade of grass to Brahma himself, the goddess presiding over the final chapter of the Devi Mahatmya in the Markandeya Purana, and according to Agama, the Chit Shakti who empowers even Shiva, the force of creation; the Vak Shakti of the Nigama, the mistress of all wealth and abundance, the serene fourth Mahavidya, Goddess Bhuvaneshwari, grants her devotee all happiness, prosperity, wealth, knowledge, intelligence, power, divine energy, fame, authority, respect, detachment, and ultimately, liberation. Goddess Bhuvaneshwari, whose single-syllable mantra ‘Hreem’ is so powerful that it is also called Maya due to its infinite majesty, and Bhairava himself mentions in the Bhuvaneshwari Rahasya that without this mantra, all other mantras—especially Shakti mantras—become lifeless. Hence, it is recognized as the supreme Shakti Pranava. There is nothing in this world that you cannot achieve with her blessings. She is the ruler of the entire universe and all its grandeur. It is the Goddess who gives you the inspiration to act and the strength to complete your tasks. Think about it, the power that rules and manages the three worlds and the fourteen realms—that is, the entire universe—how powerful and capable she must be! And even more than that, the Goddess is compassionate. If you surrender yourself to her with complete devotion and cling to her feet, she will take charge of your life. This is my personal experience; you just need the courage to walk the path shown by the Goddess, and she herself will guide you. Goddess Bhuvaneshwari's consort is Shiva, known as Tryambaka, and her corresponding Vishnu avatar is Vamana. She is considered a Siddha Vidya and is the serene, pleasure-giving Goddess. She manifested on the twelfth day of the waxing moon in the month of Bhadrapada, which is celebrated as her birthday. She is also called Rajarajeshwari, and her seed mantra, known as Tantric Pranava, Devi Pranava, Shakti Pranava, or Maya Bija, is 'Hreem or Hring.' Goddess Bhuvaneshwari embodies the three gunas, and her ruling planet is the Moon. ======================================= How to Practice the Meditation on Devi Pranava? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ In the sacred Devi Bhagavata Purana, the Divine Mother herself reveals a method for meditating on her Beej Mantra. She says: For the perfect contemplation of the mantra and its meaning, one must first become established in yogic practice, then invoke the three syllables of the sacred Devi Pranava within oneself. (Verse 41) The syllable 'Ha' represents the gross body (Sthool Deh), 'Ra' symbolizes the subtle body (Sookshma Deh), and 'Ee' stands for the causal body (Karan Deh). The 'Hreem (or Hring)’ sound itself is my fourth form. Thus, a wise person must contemplate the oneness of the individual (Vyashti) and the cosmic (Samashti) forms by understanding these three syllables within both the individual and the universal body." (Verses 42-43) Before entering deep meditation (Samadhi), one should, with great reverence, engage in this inner contemplation. Afterward, closing both eyes, the devotee should focus on me, the Supreme Goddess Jagadishwari." (Verse 44) At that time, the practitioner should sit in a cave or a quiet place devoid of sound, free from desires and envy, without attachment to worldly pleasures. With an unwavering and pure heart, the practitioner should balance the Prana and Apana breaths within the nostrils and, with a sincere and uncomplicated devotion, dissolve the gross body symbolized by 'Ha' into the subtle body represented by 'Ra.' Next, the practitioner should merge the radiant subtle body into the causal body, represented by 'Ee,' and finally, merge the causal body into the Brahman essence of 'Hring.’ (Verses 45-47) At this point, the seeker transcends all distinctions of form and meaning, entering the realm beyond duality, where they contemplate the unbroken truth of Sat-Chit-Ananda (Existence-Consciousness-Bliss) at the crown of the head (Sahasrara). O King, through this form of meditation, the enlightened soul realizes my presence and becomes one with me, for the unity between the seeker and the Divine is eternal. By this yogic method, the practitioner attains the supreme vision of me as the transcendent Goddess and instantly dispels ignorance and the bondage of karma." (Verses 48-50)
