Willie Ralston 1080p
Our thanks to 95-year-old Willie Ralston for sharing some wonderful memories of farming life with us as part of our Ploughing On initiative to celebrate senior people in the Scottish farming community. Remarkably, Willie still remembers the names of the two Clydesdales he ploughed with after leaving school, and one of his proudest moments was when The Scottish Farmer reporter Angus MacDonald wrote an article on the pioneering use of silage (with help from SAC Consulting at his Nether Bracco dairy farm. However, most cherished memory of all was from a Royal Highland Show dance in George Street when he looked across the dance floor (the ladies on one side and gents on the other in those days) and spotted Abbie and knew without a flicker of a doubt she was the one. She went on to be his much loved and respected wife for 40 years. Thank you Willie - you are an inspiration to us all.
