Trains of Pittsburgh part 1 - July 23 1992

Arriving in the Pittsburgh area in the afternoon, our first stop was Conrail's Conway yard. After a quick drive through past the Conway engine terminal & switching hump, we ended up on an overpass at the east end of the yard. 1. Conrail 2803 heads west into the yard. 2. A Geep & slug set pulls east out of the yard. 3. Train Mail 8, seen hours earlier in Toledo, passes eastbound. 4. The slug set backs its train into the yard. 5. Mail 9 heads by westbound, while a set of light power switches tracks. 6. Mail 9H passes our location. 7. Conrail freight PICA heads east out of the yard. 8. Later in the evening, a set of Wheeling & Lake Erie engines are seen at Rook yard. 9. Conrail train Mail 44 passes through the downtown Pittsburgh Amtrak station 10. Amtrak #29, the Capitol Limited passes the ex B&O tower at Glenwood.
