Selvi Alamelu and Dr. Subbaraman are the principle disciples of Needamangalam Sri Krishnamurthy Bagahvathar who was the descendant (6th generation) of Oothukkadu Venkaasubbiar. Needamangalam Sri Krishnamurthy Baghavathar was the only person who brought out the great works of venkatakavi and was hugely responsible for popularizing the Kritis of Oothukkadu Venkatakavi. After Sri Krishnamurthy Baghavathar attained Lord feet, in 1983, Selvi Alamelu and Dr. Subbaraman have been performing religious discourses. Ninety years ago, Panduranga Bakthi was spread in Chennai by Sri Kothandarama Swamigal. He was the headmaster Hindu High School and later on became the managerial head in Chennai high Court. After relinquishing them, he was the one who first established Panduranga Temple in Chennai at Triplicane. Selvi. Alamelu and Dr. Subbaraman are the grandchildren of this great soul. Born with the great lineage and the blessings of Needamangalam Bhagavathar and Acharyals, Selvi alamelu and Sr. Subbaraman have been rendering religious discourses mainly focusing on Oothukkadu Venkatakavi's works. They render the authentic version of the very famous 'Kaalinga Nardhanam', one of the greatest episodes of Krishna Avatar.
