This stitch creates a detached 3D flower. Start by holding two long needles together so that the points are even- I prefer a 5 inch weaving needle and a 3 inch darning needle. Pinch the thread by the points of the needles, leaving at least a 5 inch thread tail. Now cast on 5 stitches to the shorter needle. These cast on stitches should be tight around the needle and stacked next to one another. Once done, cast on 7 stitches around both needles.
