With each step optimized for efficiency and quality, the facility churns out vast quantities of watermelons destined for distribution. From there, trucks equipped with refrigerated containers transport the fruit to supermarkets and retailers worldwide, meeting the insatiable demand for this beloved summer staple. In 2020, the global production of watermelons reached an astounding 101.6 million tonnes, with China (mainland) emerging as the dominant player, contributing a staggering 60% of the total production at 60.1 million tonnes. Notably, several other countries also made significant contributions to the global watermelon production landscape. Secondary producers such as Turkey, India, Iran, Algeria, and Brazil each boasted annual production figures ranging from 2 to 3 million tonnes in 2020.
