RWD sedans are making a comeback: Ford Falcon revival?

RWD sedans are making a comeback. Does this mean we could see a new Ford Falcon on the horizon? It seems the big brands in the USA are enthused about bringing back big, rear-wheel drive sedans. GM is planning a new 7th-generation Camaro, as well as a new Cadillac CT5 and Buick sedan based on the Alpha 2-2 platform. Across in Japan, Nissan is also planning a new Skyline and it's set to feature the VR30DDT 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6 from the Z, with RWD and there's even talk of a manual transmission: https://drivingenthusiast.com.au/2026... As for Ford? Well, CEO Jim Farley has said there's "definitely a market for sedans", and has asked fans if Ford should make a new, high-performance sedan. Farley also seems interested in an Australian-style, sedan-based ute. He is quoted as saying in a CarExpert report: "I think this country gave the globe the ute. So, I'm pretty serious about it." Which, if you tie the two together, brings up feelings of a Ford Falcon, and the idea of a potential revival of the nameplate. Could there be a business case to build a new Ford Falcon, and in Australia? Let me know what you think.
