The Pro-Rector of People Management, Paola Meirelles, gave a detailed interview about the process, highlighting the importance of the competition after a six-year hiatus without a public notice. She explains that the delay was due to administrative and legal adjustments and the updating of laws, especially the inclusion of quotas for indigenous and quilombola people, reinforcing the university's commitment to public inclusion policies. The competition includes immediate vacancies and the formation of a reserve list, essential to address the high turnover and frequent vacancies, especially in the position of administrative assistant. The exams, scheduled for February 1st, will be administered in different shifts. UNIRIO is also amending the notice to clarify doubts about applying for more than one position, allowing candidates to compete for positions at different levels as long as the exams are held in different shifts. The placement of successful candidates is not defined in the notice to allow greater flexibility in allocating staff among the various campuses, located in neighborhoods such as Urca, Botafogo, Centro, and Maracanã. Internal transfer is possible through an administrative relocation process, respecting the norms of Law 8112. Regarding the requirements, it is important to note that the position of administrative assistant requires only a completed high school education, without the need for professional experience, due to a recent reform in the career path of administrative technicians and the legal controversy regarding the requirement of experience in public service examinations. UNIRIO expects a large number of applicants, and the Pro-Rector emphasizes the importance of carefully studying the notice and reviewing previous attempts for better preparation. Salaries range from R$2,000 to R$4,000, plus benefits such as food, transportation, health, and preschool allowances, as well as a significant financial incentive for those with higher qualifications, such as undergraduate, specialization, master's, or doctoral degrees. Career progression occurs through annual performance evaluations combined with length of service and training via specific courses. The approval of the competitive examination is scheduled for April, with staggered call-ups from then on, and the appointment of the first employees possibly in the second semester. The university has administrative autonomy and does not depend on external authorizations to call the approved candidates, facilitating hiring as vacancies arise.
