Japanese National Railways (JNR) chose a short part of Heykens' serenade as the melody for the auto-announce chime in its passenger cars. Although JNR was privatized in 1987 and divided into 6 passenger-operating companies and 1 freight-operating company (Japan Railway Group), this serenade is still used on some JR Group trains today.
