After a break from playing, a vacation, or demanding performances, it's often not easy to get back to playing the trumpet with ease. This video focuses on regaining a soft embouchure and gradually making your trumpet playing smooth and free again. The key is to reduce pressure—not just the pressure of the mouthpiece on your lips, but also the air pressure and volume. With targeted exercises in the mezzo-piano range, using low notes, chromatic movements, and consciously engaging your lips softly, you can reactivate your lip muscles without tensing up. This warm-up will help you reorganize your embouchure, make your sound fuller, and play the trumpet with more ease, flexibility, and control.
