One day in Ubud on foot with no scooter and no driver

Ubud can be overwhelming if you're visiting for just a day. After spending lots of time exploring this bustling Balinese town, I've put together a walkable route that takes in some of my favourite spots. Starting at the Monkey Forest, this guide follows a logical path through town, showing you where to grab great coffee, find authentic local art and enjoy some excellent food along the way. I'll take you from the touristy centre up into the quieter Penestanan area and share some practical tips about timing and what to expect. The route includes the famous Monkey Forest Road, Seniman Coffee, Casa Luna, Yellow Flower Cafe and Threads of Life textile gallery among other stops. This is the kind of day I'd recommend to friends who are short on time but want to experience both the popular highlights and some local favorites in Ubud.
