Using the Wedgie Sled
This video demonstrates how I use a wedgie sled to cut perfect segments for the perfect ring. Note: When I use the Incra gauge blocks to set the distance between the blade and the stop block, I am setting the space to be the SEL value multiplied by the Cosine of the angle. For example a 12 sided segmented ring would have an angle of 180 divided by 12 which is 15 degrees. Be careful when you use the Cosine function since some calculators default to radians not degrees. If you need to convert degrees to radians it is done by multiplying Degrees by pi and then dividing by 180. So in our example 15 degrees is (15 * pi)/180 which equals 0.2618 radians. Setting the space between the blade and the stop block is much much easier using this method rather than trying to get the SEL length set up by site on the diagonal.
