Yorkshire’s Forgotten Railway – Photographing the Wharfedale Line

This line remains one of Yorkshire’s most underrated by rail enthusiasts/ railfans and rarely photographed—but why? Tucked away in the stunning Wharfedale valley with breathtaking scenery, classic Midland Railway architecture, and a busy timetable of Northern Class 333 & 331 electric trains, this line has everything a railway photographer could want. With few railway photographers venturing here, I set out to photograph the trains running on this busy yet underrated railway line. This outing has everything from picturesque countryside views to classic railway heritage! I aim to uncover the hidden beauty of this overlooked gem, capturing the perfect blend of historic charm and modern rail operations against the picturesque backdrop of the Yorkshire Dales.
