ATHENS METRO Ride | Line 1 - Omonia to Kifisia

Besides the underground stations of Omonia and Victoria, Athens Metro Line 1 corridor runs largely at-grade. The Omonia to Kifisia (northern terminus) section comprises of 16 stations. The line was extended to Kifisia in 1957 while Omonia was opened as early as 1895 and is now an interchange station for lines 1 and 2. Line 1 carries approx. 450 000 daily passengers. Scheduled trip duration: 32 mins Rolling stock (Line 1): 5-car (8th and 10th batches, deliveries of which began in 1983 and 1993 respectively) and 6-car (11th batch, deliveries from 2000 thru 2004 manufactured by Siemens, Hellenic Shipyards, Alstrom, Adtranz and Bombardier).
