Sexual assault, possession and supply of narcotics, kidnapping, and assault: these are the charges on which state police arrested well-known entrepreneur Alberto Genovese, 43, founder of Facile.it, on the night between Friday and Saturday. According to investigators, he forced a young woman, just 18, to have repeated sexual intercourse during a party he hosted, also forcing her to take drugs such as cocaine and ketamine. And according to officers, she may not be the only victim of the wild parties hosted by the manager at his private club, dubbed "Terrazza Sentimento," directly connected to the apartment where he lived. In fact, the police have dozens of hours of footage captured by internal security cameras, which will reconstruct those evenings where, between drugs and alcohol, other men may have also abused young girls who had just turned 18. The story began on October 11th when police rescued an eighteen-year-old girl, half-naked and in a state of shock, in Piazza Santa Maria Beltrade, near the Duomo. She allegedly claimed to have had repeated sexual encounters while under the influence of drugs at one of the businessman's parties. According to initial reports, Genovese forced the girl into his bedroom, where she was forced to sniff drugs, then tied up and raped several times. A bodyguard was stationed outside the door and also prevented the girl's friend from entering the room. The officers thus began their investigation, and the following day they managed to enter Genovese's attic, where the events had taken place, and where they found clear evidence supporting the girl's complaint. Once the story came to light, another young woman found the courage to report the entrepreneur, telling magistrates that she too had been Genovese's victim: she had allegedly been raped in Ibiza last summer, in the same manner. But other testimonies from those who frequented Genovese's parties also confirmed the young woman's version, describing how during the evenings "drugs were circulating, distributed on plates for everyone to use" and how Genovese "used to put drugs in glasses." However, after days of investigation, on November 6th, officers intercepted a phone call in which the entrepreneur, speaking to his mother, said he was ready to leave the country on his private jet. Investigators decided it was time to intervene, placing an immediate arrest due to the risk of flight. During questioning by the investigating judge, Genovese attempted to defend himself by saying he had been "addicted to cocaine for four years," declaring that when under the influence, he can't control himself and no longer understands the line between legal and illegal. "I need treatment," he confessed. After leaving the insurance brokerage website Facile.it in 2014, Genovese was president of Prima Assicurazione, but this was until Sunday, when the company announced his replacement "in light of the serious accusations."
