I sat down with Bakhtavar Jawaid, the owner of Montebello Ace Hardware, on their one-year anniversary to hear the story behind Montebello's newest hardware store. Montebello hadn't had a hardware store in over 30 years. The city surveyed its residents, and bringing one back was the #2 request. So the city reached out to Ace Hardware directly, and Bakhtavar answered the call. One year later, they're sitting at a 4.9 rating on Google and selling out pies. Yes, pies.
