The tribes were now at peace. They had defeated their most powerful enemies; there were still battles to be fought, but the main task had been accomplished. What no one expected was that now that they had peace against their external enemies, the dangers of a war between brothers arose. Who would have thought that peace could be a danger to the interpersonal relationships of Israel? And it's very likely that the same problems arise within churches. How can we, as a church, maintain the bond of unity? Why is it so important to God that His children remain united? How should I react if I am attacked or hurt by the comments or actions of my brothers and sisters in the church? May this lesson help us understand and practice God's will for our lives.
