History with AI: San Diego Horton Plaza Walkthrough June 2003 Upscaled with AI

In June of 2003 I visited the Horton Plaza Mall in downtown San Diego and filmed this walkthrough with a standard definition DV camcorder. I recently found this footage in my archive and it seemed like a great subject for AI upscaling! This version has been upscaled 2X both in time and frame rate using AI tools: The Original video was 480i 29.97 FPS This Upscaled version is 960p 54.94 FPS My tool EMA VFI WebUI was used to create the video, from ingestion of the original, to splitting by scene and choosing kept scenes, to AI and non-AI processing, to generating the final video + original audio without ever using a video editor. I thought it would be a fun subject for a video someday (it is!) About this video I used my tool to drop scenes that I felt were a bit invasive of people's privacy, like larger clear face shots. People can be seen but hopefully nobody feels it's inappropriate. In any case, it was filmed in a publicly-accessible location with a non-concealed handheld camera.
