Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer and today we have a 2023 GMC Sierra 3500 and we've installed the Pace Edwards UltraGroove Hard Tonneau Cover that's electric. Now this is a hard Tonneau cover, meaning when it's fully extended, it does actually have some rigidity to it rather than a soft one that can kind of flop around. And the great part is instead of having to fold it back, you can just open it up whenever you're ready at the push of a button. In under 30 seconds, you're able to either open or close your tonneau, which is really nice if your hands are full, you can simply push the button, have your tonneau cover open ready to go. And then when you load it up you can press the close button and know that it's sealed tight. Now the great part about this style of tonneau cover is once this is closed and you lock your vehicle, this creates a nice storage compartment that you can't get into. There's no way to just unlatch this without having your key fob that's included. In fact, there's two of 'em. So that way you can have one on each keyring or a spare and also you can add in a Bluetooth module and that way you can control it from an app as well. The matte black aluminum is really nice looking and it just kind of has a sleek profile. And part of that is because it only sticks up about an inch above the bedrail. So you really have a nice sleek looking tonneau cover that has plenty of functionality. Also having a tonneau cover, an added benefit is the reduction of any drag from the wind so you get slightly better gas mileage. Something else that I really like about this tonneau cover is the T slots that we have along the rails and that allows you to not only get a roof rack but also a ladder rack. So if you use this for work and you still need to get your ladders or any of your accessories up, you can pick up the kits to allow you to do that and still maintain your tonneau cover, which is something that sometimes you have to give up when getting a different style of tonneau cover. Now when the tonneau cover is retracted it kind of rolls into our canister here and the canisters designed really well because you have a nice curve and you also still have a decent amount of space underneath. So on our 8 foot bed, if I pick up some 8 foot 2x4, I can still utilize this by having the space under here and it's a nice little compact shape. Now there's seals on the rails, there's felt underneath our cover here. And overall this system is really nice to keep your bed water tight. Now if water does accumulate either in the canister or in the rail system, there's also drains set up that allow that to drain out prolonging the life of your tonneau cover. Now I've installed plenty of tonneau covers here at etrailer and one of the ones that I really like is the back flip, which allows you to kind of tri-fold that up and when you store it, it rests against here, which is fine except you lose all your visibility and it does tend to block your cameras. And that's the great part about this, as it retracts you don't lose any visibility and it's all stored in the canister. Now when mounting up your rails, you're gonna be using a bracket system that doesn't require any drilling which is nice. It's a nice sturdy feel and it holds the rails in place. And the only drilling that's gonna be required during the installation is to drill the holes for your drains. Now because this is powered, you obviously have to get 12 volt power to it and it includes a harness that's already pre-made for you. It's already got the ring terminals and fuse holders in place. So simply just plugs into the canister and you'll route that wire to the battery where you just attach it to the battery terminal. So it's really easy, they give you enough wire to do it. And overall the installation is not bad to do. Main thing is, is getting your tolerances correct that way you maintain that watertight seal but they give you a gauge that actually is a Go/No-Go gauge and that way you know that you're in the right spot. And overall it should take maybe three to four hours. But I do recommend having an extra set of hands not only to get the canister kind of in place, but also getting the rails in.
