We arrived in Mumbai, a metropolis that overwhelmed us from the very first moment with its chaos and utter unpredictability. Our encounter with this city began with a nightly wandering in search of a booked hotel. The main purpose of our visit was the famous, largest open-air laundromat in Mumbai. Getting into it, however, proved to be a real challenge. Locals immediately tried to extort fees from us, causing our first two attempts to enter to fail. Only on our third attempt did we manage to penetrate this peculiar, closed world. It's shocking to realize that this gigantic network of concrete vats is not only a place of extremely grueling labor, but above all, home to thousands of people who live there daily in incredibly harsh conditions.
