It crosses the Bohai Strait via a Bridge-Tunnel that would be twice as long as the Gotthard Base Tunnel. This section of line is built completely to High-Speed Rail standards capable of operating speeds up to 360 kph. Facilities enable conventional IC service to run onto the channel link until the HSR service takes over.
