This is 'Lucretia My Reflection' by The Sisters of Mercy from their 1983 album 'Floodland', also released a single. The song was written by Andrew Eldritch as a 'welcome' to the Sisters of Mercy bassist, Patricia Morrison, who, he said, 'always strikes me as a Lucrezia [Borgia]-type person'. Its lyrics concern the fall of an empire, war and the consequent destruction of other aspects of life. As for the bass, it's just one single riff played throughout the entire song, but a very cool one, so I'm doing it. Have been thinking about adding some Sister of Mercy to the collection for a long time.
