Derby City Mission Night Time Economy - Street Pastors & YADA

STREET PASTORS have been operating in Derby since 2009. Street Pastors look out for, listen to, talk with and care for people who have set out for a good night out but find themselves in a vulnerable or difficult situation. Over the last year, 45 Street Pastors have put in over 2,000 volunteer hours supporting those in need in the Night Time Economy. Derby has once again been awarded Purple Flag accreditation in recognition of its varied, vibrant and safe night life. It’s a testament to the success of the work of Street Pastors working alongside other partners such as Derby City Council, the Police, door staff and taxi marshals. YADA: Derby City Mission is piloting a new venture, a non-alcoholic bar which will provide an alternative space for young people to meet up and have a great night out. It will also be a place where they can find out more about the Gospel message, communicated in a fresh, authentic and relational way. The name of this new venture is ‘YADA’ which means ‘to know’ in Hebrew and is currently being piloted in the City Centre by a young people. https://www.derbycitymission.org.uk/n...
