Waarom wilde vroeger niemand zijn lichaam schenken aan de wetenschap?

Andreas Vesalius was one of the first to insist on dissecting a human body. Before Vesalius, anatomists dissected animals to learn more about the human body. When Vesalius decided to do the same with humans, he wasn't sure where to find corpses, so he stole the bodies of criminals hanged on the gallows. What happened next, and how scientists have since convinced us to voluntarily donate our bodies to science, is explained by Professor Tinne Claes, a historian at KU Leuven. 👩‍🔬 More science?
