How to climb Mount Teide in 2025

I wanted to share an update on my recent climb to the top of Mount Teide. While the logistics initially seemed challenging, particularly regarding the permits, it turns out the Spanish authorities were quite flexible once they saw I was prepared. I needed two permits: one for the hike to the cable car area and another, more difficult to obtain, for the final half-mile climb to the summit. Each permit was for a specific time slot, which definitely added to the planning complexity. Additionally, specific gear was required to even begin the hike. I had originally intended to run it, but with all the necessary equipment, I opted to hike instead. The terrain was a fascinating mix of Haleakala and Mauna Kea, culminating in a rocky ascent to the summit. It's great to have another stratovolcano off the list! Mahalo for watching!
