After a break of more than 16 years, Chemnitz and Freiberg have long-distance rail connections again since June 12, 2022. An IC train shuttles between Chemnitz and Warnemünde twice a day. Double-deck railcars of the type Stadler KISS BR 4110 consisting of 4 cars per train and an operating speed of up to 200 km/h will be used.
