The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has confirmed that it will take firm action against civil servants (ASN) found to be involved in the recently uncovered fraudulent payment scheme involving Indonesian Hajj pilgrims. Two civil servants are suspected of being involved in the case, one from Purwakarta, West Java, and the other from Timika, Papua. The Inspector General of the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, Dendi Suryadi, emphasized that his office will conduct a thorough investigation. If proven to be involved, the civil servants in question will be subject to sanctions in accordance with applicable regulations, ranging from coaching to enforcement based on civil servant disciplinary provisions. "If there is a connection to civil servants, whether civil servants or PPPK (Personal Employee Recipients), we will follow up according to applicable mechanisms and employee disciplinary provisions," said Dendi Suryadi. In addition to civil servants, Hajj and Umrah guidance groups (KBIHU) found to be involved in fraudulent fund practices will also be subject to strict sanctions. These sanctions could include the revocation of their operational permits. Meanwhile, the movement of Indonesian Hajj pilgrims from Mecca to Medina and their repatriation to Indonesia via King Abdul Aziz International Airport in Jeddah continues. On the fourth day of the movement phase, Thursday, June 10, 2026, 6,914 pilgrims in 18 flight groups are scheduled to depart for Medina. The movement will take place from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Saudi Arabian time. According to the latest data, the number of Indonesian Hajj pilgrims who have been repatriated to Indonesia has reached 60,954. They have returned to various disembarkation points in Indonesia in stages. The repatriation of the first wave of pilgrims via King Abdul Aziz International Airport in Jeddah is scheduled to last until June 15, 2026. The repatriation of the second wave of pilgrims from Medina will begin on June 16, 2026.
