Reigning Miss World visits SA to launch Miss World South Africa

South Africa's history with the Miss World organisation goes back to the crowning of South Africa's Penelope Anne Coelenin in 1958, Anneline Kriel in 1974 and Rolene Strauss in 2014. Since it was founded in 1951, Miss World, one of the longest-established global pageants, has raised money for organisations that support disadvantaged and disabled children and other deserving causes. To highlight this, reigning Miss World Karolina Bielawska and Miss World organisation's chairperson Julia Morley are currently in South Africa to promote humanitarian projects as part of the Beauty With A Purpose programme. The visit also includes the launch of the new Miss World South Africa Franchise that will be focused on young women who are steeped in nation-building and resonate with the Miss World motto of "Beauty With A Purpose".
