The Welsh language soap first began on BBC One Wales on 16 October 1974, before moving over to S4C in 1982 where, now into its sixth decade, it continues to this day. Over the years, the fictional town of Cwmderi has been a who's who of Welsh acting talent, with performers such as Steffan Rhodri, Ioan Gruffydd, Iwan Rheon and Alexandra Roach making early appearances on the show.
