Kotor to Dubrovnik Drive | Montenegro to Croatia via Bosnia and Herzegovina

In this drive, we leave Kotor in Montenegro and make our way towards Dubrovnik in Croatia. Rather than taking the shortest route with the ferry crossing over the Bay of Kotor, we chose the slightly longer road around the bay, which turned out to be a beautiful drive in its own right. Along the way, we passed through Perast, with its lovely waterfront and views across the bay, before changing plans and taking a detour through Trebinje in Bosnia and Herzegovina to avoid the heavy queues at the main Montenegro–Croatia border. What followed was a surprisingly smooth and scenic route, with hardly any waiting at the border crossings and a changing landscape that took us from the Bay of Kotor back into the mountains, before the Adriatic finally came back into view and we caught our first glimpse of Dubrovnik.
