Gorges du Verdon. Provence. France.

The Verdon Gorge, French Gorges du Verdon, colloquially also known as the Grand Canyon du Verdon, is a gorge in the French Provence, in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence department. It begins downstream from the town of Castellane and ends near Moustiers-Sainte-Marie at the Lac de Sainte-Croix reservoir. The turquoise Verdon River flows through the approximately 21 km long and up to 700-meter deep canyon. Along with the Tara Canyon, the Gorges du Verdon is one of the largest canyons in Europe and a key feature of the Verdon Regional Natural Park, which is named after it.
